A story about passion: My child or my job? Comparative study regarding the entrepreneurs and the employees
Keywords:
entrepreneurs, employees, adult attachment styles, work motivation, burnoutAbstract
This study explores comparisons between entrepreneurs (N = 25) and employees (N = 25), in terms of work motivation, adult attachment styles and burnout. The results showed that among entrepreneurs secure attachment style is dominant, work motivation is supported by integrated regulation and the level of burnout is kept balanced by focusing on their personal accomplishments. Among employees the fearful attachment style is dominant, work motivation is manifested by amotivation, and burnout takes the form of emotional exhaustion. The results are discussed in terms of theoretical and practical implications, according to the metaphor: the company - "my child" or just a job.
