Studiu de caz
Keywords:
assessment center, scientific vs. utility perspectiveAbstract
The present paper aims at analysing the current Assessment Center (AC) practices in Romania by
examining both the scientific and the utility perspectives neccesary for any personnel assessment
endeavour. Starting from a case study, the key features of an AC will be analyzed, as well as the
methodological flaws of the AC project presented. AC is a complex personnel assessment method,
which should be founded on thorrow knowledge of personnel assessment principles and practices. This
paper will outline the major risks and limitations of an AC which is not designed on a solid scientific
foundation and which does not take into account the major utility criteria.
